Three summits above Lake Maggiore, in a single loop.
We set off with the Guidders from Miazzina and climb through pastures and woodland to Monte Todun, then to Pizzo Pernice and Pian Cavallone, finishing on Monte Todano. Throughout the circuit the view stays open onto Lake Maggiore and the alpine arc: crests, pastures and the signature views of the Verbano one after another. The height gain is serious, and that is precisely why the day is felt and remembered.
