WHY THIS HIKE

Laurasca: peak & fall colors

A loop that climbs past old lime kilns and comes down through autumn colors.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Fondo Li Gabbi, where the Rifugio Laurasca marks the start of the day. The trail winds through the Val Loana plain, past woods glowing amber and copper in the fall, and by the Fornaci, old lime kilns brought back to life. We climb with the Guidders up to Alpe Scaredi, with its bivouac and mountain pools, then tackle the final stretch to the Cima della Laurasca, at 2138 meters, where the view opens onto the whole Val Vigezzo. The way down, on this loop route, brings us back in the golden afternoon light.

This trail is ancient: shepherds once used it to bring livestock up to the alpine pastures, and walking it today means following a real mountain path.

5 reasons to join - Cima della Laurasca, one of the best views in Val Vigezzo - autumn colors lighting up the woods - the Fornaci, a piece of history along the way - Scaredi bivouac, a charming high-altitude stop - a full loop, with different ascent and descent

Who it's for You'll need decent fitness and sure footing, especially on the final stretch to the summit: not a walk for everyone, but nothing strong legs can't handle.

Join the Guidders: book your spot and let's climb the Laurasca together.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Dario, an environmental hiking guide and a beekeeper. 🐝 The mountains are my home: between trekking, trail running and mountaineering I'm out looking for new adventures to live and share every day. I love exploring trails, finding hidden corners and watching nature with curiosity, respect and passion — things that beekeeping taught me to look at very close up. Taking people out is what excites me most: seeing the astonishment in someone's eyes when they reach a summit, cross a wood or discover something new makes every outing special. My goal? To give you real experiences, where the journey counts as much as the destination, always with a smile and in good company. 🌲 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
