WHY THIS HIKE

The Nepali Highway at Furka Pass

An extraordinary trek amidst glaciers, moraines, and landscapes that look like they came straight out of the Himalayas. Together with the Guidders, we will experience one of the most spectacular excursions in the Swiss Alps along the famous Nepali Highway, in the heart of the Furkapass area. We will set off from Hotel Tiefenbach, above Realp, traversing a powerful and wild alpine environment of granite, ice, and immense glacial valleys. We will climb towards the Schafberg, an incredible panoramic balcony overlooking the great surrounding peaks, before reaching the Albert-Heim Hütte, a historic alpine refuge nestled in a high-altitude setting. From there, we will enter the true magic of the Nepali Highway: a panoramic traverse through hanging meadows, rocks, and glacial moraines leading to the evocative Sidelenhütte, a small alpine oasis at the foot of the Sidelen glacier. An intense and memorable trek, designed for those who dream of grand landscapes and the authentic thrill of the high mountains.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Roberto, a mid-mountain guide: someone raised among trails, cows and a great deal of curiosity. I've been walking in the mountains since my father decided to take us all "up" together. I'd only just learned to stand up on flat ground, but it was among ridges, woods and stones that I really learned to walk. An architect by training, I've always watched how people inhabit the mountains: huts, summer pastures, traces of lives suspended between nature and human ingenuity. For over ten years I've taken hikers through valleys, summits and forgotten alpine pastures, entering nature with every sense to catch all of it. That's my mountain: constant searching, genuine experiences, care for safety and real wellbeing. A whirl of days outdoors that never ends, and that I don't want to end. 🌄 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
