Rapallo-Montallegro Loop: The most stunning hike overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio.
The Rapallo-Montallegro loop over the Tigullio
From the sea at Rapallo to a sanctuary above the gulf.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the seafront at Rapallo and climb old Ligurian mule tracks to the sanctuary of Nostra Signora di Montallegro, looking out over the Gulf of Tigullio. In a few kilometres you go from sea level to inland views, through Mediterranean woodland with constant glimpses of the water. The return closes the loop back to Rapallo: a complete outing, where the climb makes itself felt and gives everything back.
5 reasons to come - the sanctuary of Montallegro, above the Tigullio - the old Ligurian mule tracks - going from sea to hinterland in a few hours - constant glimpses of the gulf as you climb - a loop that does not repeat itself
Who it suits A rewarding but continuous climb on mule tracks: normal walking fitness is enough.
One of the finest circuits on the Riviera di Levante: come and do it with the Guidders.
