The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Bonassola on a loop linking Bonassola, Levanto and Framura, alternating panoramic paths, old railway tunnels turned into walkways and stretches suspended above the sea. We pass Montaretto, Spiaggia Arena and the Torsei beach, then climb Monte Pastorelli before closing the circuit. Little serious height gain and an enormous amount to look at: the blue of the Riviera di Levante goes with every step.

Nestled between protective mountains and the sparkling sea, the village of Montaretto offers a strategic location just a stone's throw from the Cinque Terre. This land of vineyards and olive groves is encircled by forests of holm oak and maritime pines. From here, you'll enjoy commanding views of the entire Gulf of Genoa, stretching from the islands of Gorgona and Capraia all the way to Monviso.

From Montaretto, we'll descend onto the coastal trail that will lead us first to the "balcony of the waves" and then to Framura.
