WHY THIS HIKE

Monte Genzana and Monte Rognone

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Filippo, an environmental hiking guide. I came to the outdoor world in 2018, and since then the urge for adventure has taken me to the finest corners of my beloved Abruzzo and of the whole Apennine chain, between rocky summits and valleys thick with woodland. I walk whenever I can, and I'm passionate about maps and multi-day treks. That same year I walked the Via degli Dei, from Bologna to Florence, 125 km with a tent and entirely self-supported; on my return I set off on one of the biggest adventures of my life, the Camino de Santiago — almost 1000 km through some of the most striking landscapes in Spain. In 2019 a basic hiking course gave me the tools to be out in nature safely, and from that day I had a new goal: to make the woods my workplace, slow the rhythm of my days and encourage the people walking with me towards a more sustainable life. See you in the mountains, Guidders!
