In the heart of Val Gerola, discover the magic of Lake Trona.
Lake Trona in Val Gerola
A turquoise lake where you swim at altitude.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders and climb through pasture and silence to Lago di Trona, set high in the Val Gerola: a cool, little-visited gem where you can relax, walk and — in summer — take a swim. Just above stands Rifugio Trona Soliva, the right place to stop before heading back. A route of moderate difficulty, for anyone with a little fitness and a wish to take the mountains lightly.
