Monte Visolo: Trekking Along Ridges Facing Presolana
Visolo: ridge to the real summit
One ridge, one summit, a view that stretches to the Adamello.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Cantoniera della Presolana, following the CAI 316 trail. We climb with the Guidders through switchback woods up to Baita Cassinelli, the CAI Castione refuge at 1568 m that marks the shift in pace. From there the path heads north, climbs open slopes, then traverses east: the final stretch runs along a panoramic ridge straight to the summit of Monte Visolo, 2362 m. The route is a loop: we return via a different line, with gentler descents through meadows and woods.
From the top the view sweeps over the Clusone plain, Val di Scalve, the entire Adamello group and all the way to Lake Iseo: one of the widest balconies in the Orobie Alps.
5 reasons to join - Visolo's summit, quiet and wildly panoramic - the final ridge, the best moment of the climb - Baita Cassinelli, the perfect halfway stop - views over Adamello, Lake Iseo and Val di Scalve - a true loop, no repeated stretches
Who it's for You'll need trained legs and sure footing: the final ridge calls for attention but no technical gear. If you love tough, genuine outings, this one's for you.
Join the Guidders: we meet at the Cantoniera and climb together to one of the Orobie's finest summits.
