WHY THIS HIKE

The summit that looks the Presolana in the eye

Monte Visolo is the summit right next to the Presolana, the Queen of the Orobie. You reach it on foot, without ropes, and from the top the Queen's great wall feels close enough to touch, with Val di Scalve on one side and Val Seriana on the other.

Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

With the Guidders we start from Passo della Presolana, climb through the woods to Baita Cassinelli and then over pastures and short rocky stretches below the south face, all the way to the top. It is a long, steady climb: every step widens the view, and at the summit we take the group photo and enjoy a packed lunch with the best view of the day.

It is an intermediate trek with a long climb and a few stretches of easy rock: you need good fitness and some experience of mountain paths. Bring boots with a good sole, a jacket, hat and gloves: up high in late November the air is crisp. Lunch is a packed lunch.

Come with the Guidders: the Queen of the Orobie, seen from her balcony.
