Mount Cerano from Arzo: Vertical Kilometer and Panoramic Trekking through Alpine Pastures in the Ossola Valley.
Mount Cerano from Arzo
A climb that gives nothing away, and a summit almost nobody touches.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Arzo, above Gravellona Toce, and partly follow the famous T6 path, the vertical kilometre: a direct, intense line through chestnut woods, summer pastures and open crests. We pass Alpe Cech and the Cappella Minerola, and the climb is steady, firm, almost relentless: you do not stroll here, you earn height. On the summit of Monte Cerano the view repays every step, and the descent closes the loop.
5 reasons to come - the vertical kilometre path - a summit that sees surprisingly few people - the chestnut woods and pastures on the way up - the Cappella Minerola along the route - a loop descent, different from the way up
Who it suits A continuous, very demanding climb: excellent fitness and legs used to steep gradients.
For anyone who wants to feel their legs: come and try it with the Guidders.
