WHY THIS HIKE

To the summit of Rocciamelone

The highest summit in the Val di Susa, visible from the plain.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

The Rocciamelone has an unmistakable profile, visible even from the plain, and towers over the town of Susa with a striking height difference packed into a few kilometres: a rare case in Europe. We set off with the Guidders from Rifugio La Riposa and climb the normal route, a line for fit hikers, to the summit: from up there the view covers the whole valley and much of Piedmont.

5 reasons to come - the summit of the Rocciamelone, an icon of the Val di Susa - a profile recognisable all the way from the plain - Rifugio La Riposa as a starting point - the normal route, with no mountaineering passages - a view that takes in half of Piedmont

Who it suits A long, demanding climb for fit hikers: a sure step is needed.

A summit seen from afar, and felt up close: come with the Guidders.

I've only done easy trails, can I come?

Rough and treacherous terrain requiring preparation and experience, equipment, and use of self-belay devices. You need to be fit enough to walk for 9 h with 1,500 m of ascent. If in doubt, message Ibex on WhatsApp.
