WHY THIS TREK

Two days in Val Pogallo, Val Grande

Two-day hike to discover Val Pogallo, within the Val Grande National Park, the largest wilderness area in Europe. 24 hours away from civilization and everyday life: we will sleep in a bivouac, cook on the fire, follow the tracks of wild animals as we venture deeper into the forest. We will depart from Cicogna, the only inhabited center within the Park, follow the Sutermeister path to Pogallo and then go up the stream to reach the Pian di Boit bivouac, where we will cook on the fire and sleep surrounded by nothing but nature.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Alessandro, an environmental hiking guide with AIGAE, with 15 years of leading groups behind me. Mountains, hiking, trekking, trail running, cycling: I like anything you do outdoors on your own legs. In fifteen years I've learned one thing, but a good one — a group that feels good walks better than a fast group. I set off from Milan and head mostly for the trails of the Aosta Valley, Piedmont and Lombardy: three regions you can reach in a morning from here, and enough for a lifetime of outings that never repeat. I'm also available for activities on request, so if you have a route in mind we'll build it together. See you in the mountains, Guidders!
