WHY THIS HIKE

The ducal woods of Carrega

Istituito nel 1982, è stato il primo Parco della Regione Emilia Romagna. Si estende sui terrazzi fluviali quaternari fra il fiume Taro e il torrente Baganza. Faremo un'escursione in un'area boschiva e collinare di grande interesse naturalistico, storico e culturale. Il paesaggio è intervallato da piccoli rii, laghetti e numerose radure, oltre che da giardini monumentali realizzati intorno alle ville storiche. Camminando in questo parco, ricco di biodiversità, dove anche la fauna è molto ricca, è possibile osservare il capriolo, animale simbolo del parco, lo scoiattolo e la lepre. Inoltre, nei laghi del parco si trova la rara testuggine d'acqua.
