Winter Hike from Scoccia to Alpe Piazza with Mountain Hut Lunch
Winter hike to Alpe Piazza from Scoccia
A terrace over the Valtellina, under snow.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the small village of Scoccia, above Albaredo per San Marco, and the path climbs quietly towards Monte Baitridana and then the lovely Alpe Piazza, one of the most spectacular natural terraces in the whole Valtellina. In winter the route changes face: the woods turn silent and white, the stone barns look like an alpine postcard. At the hut we stop for lunch.
5 reasons to come - the natural terrace of Alpe Piazza - stone barns under snow - lunch at the hut, in the warmth - Monte Baitridana along the climb - Valtellina views that leave you speechless
Who it suits A gentle, panoramic winter outing: fine even without much experience on snow.
The most magical side of the mountains: come and live it with the Guidders.
