Sunset & Stars at Lake Iseo

Lake Iseo at sunset is one of those images you never forget. And this time we're taking it in from two perspectives: from the water and from the sky.

The experience

Meeting point at 3:30 PM in Località Portole, Sale Marasino. We set off with a scenic walk that follows the sun as it sets over the lake. Then we sit down at the table in a traditional restaurant for a dinner that tastes of genuine local flavor. The highlight comes after dinner: astronomical observation of the autumn sky, with an educational talk on the life of stars, from their birth in the great molecular clouds, to the open cluster, their dispersion and their dramatic death. We'll observe all these stages of their life, plus a few bonus objects such as the beautiful Saturn. We'll point our telescope, with a 40 cm diameter, at the sky, guided by an expert astronomy enthusiast: it's not every day you get to look through an instrument this big!
