Epiphany Trek to the Gleno Dam: History, Nature, and Winter Magic in Val di Scalve!

A dam that tells a story Italy has not forgotten.

We set off with the Guidders from the hamlet of Pianezza, above Vilminore di Scalve, on a path that climbs gently between snowy meadows and old barns. A level lane leads into the woods, where snow-laden firs and larches create a muffled silence. The objective is the Gleno dam: what remains of it tells the story of this valley better than any book, and in winter the atmosphere is stronger still.
