The experience

It starts from the charming village of Mergozzo, on the shores of the lake of the same name, to immediately enter the heart of the excursion by crossing the hamlet of Bracchio. From here, the path begins to climb steadily through woods and increasingly open views, until you reach Alpe Vercio, a place suspended in time that once housed a Hermitage.

Here the atmosphere changes: silence, light, and an incredible view of the lakes of the Insubric area, with the Val Grande National Park as a wild backdrop. It is the classic "natural balcony" that makes you stop, breathe, and enjoy every moment.

After a refreshing break at Alpe Vercio, perhaps with a picnic overlooking the lakes, return along the same route, enjoying the landscape with different eyes.

We'll meet in a parking area right at the entrance to the village of Mergozzo. Note: If this parking area is full, there's another (paid) parking lot about 100 meters away.

After passing through the village of Mergozzo, we'll stroll along its beautiful lakeside promenade.

Bracchio
Leaving Lake Mergozzo behind, we'll begin our ascent towards the hamlet of Bracchio.

Alpe Vercio: Discover Untouched Mountain Beauty.
"Starting from Bracchio, we'll enjoy a pleasant climb along a scenic mule track leading to the stunning Alpe Vercio. Here, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views that more than make up for the gentle ascent. We'll take a break to enjoy our packed lunches with a panoramic vista of five sparkling lakes. After an hour or so at Alpe Vercio, we'll descend back towards Mergozzo."
