Easy Snowshoe Hike on the Asiago Plateau
Snowshoeing on the Asiago plateau
Snowshoes among the forts of the Great War.
The experience
On the Asiago plateau we walk among the First World War forts of the Italian-Austrian front, surrounded by spruces and larches heavy with snow, up to Forte di Campolongo. It is the right outing to try snowshoes for the first time: an easy route, scenery worth the journey and a piece of history underfoot. Snowshoes and poles can be hired on the spot for €13; if there is no snow the outing becomes a walk on an alternative route.
