WHY THIS TREK

Path of Oropa Peace

Three days of walking, one destination: peace.

Group chat before departure
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Biella, from Cittadellarte, where you collect your credential before taking your first steps. The route is a loop inspired by Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise: first the I, then the You, finally the We. We climb through the hills past the monumental Sequoia of Bottegone, descend into Valle Cervo passing through Andorno and Sagliano Micca, climb back up the old mule tracks toward Sant'Eurosia to the Oropa basin. The final leg brings us back to Biella, following the stream down through the striking Gorgomoro gorge.

Designer Alberto Conte describes it this way: after three days you return to the starting point, reflecting on the theme of "preventive peace" — the kind that doesn't come after war, but before it.

5 reasons to come - the Sanctuary of Oropa, Sacred Mountain and home of the Black Madonna - the Garden of the Third Paradise, the first installation of its kind in the world - nights spent in good company between one day of walking and the next - villages, mule tracks and the Gorgomoro gorge - a trail created to speak of peace, not just scenery

Who it's for Accessible stages, suitable for families too: all you need is the will to walk, no technical skills required.

Come close the circle with the Guidders: you set off, you walk, you come back changed.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Davide, an environmental hiking guide. I believe every trail is a chance to live an adventure, discover new places and find your way back to nature and to yourself. You don't need the highest summit: you need to get out and look around. I love taking people to hidden corners, surprising views and routes off the usual list, where every step gives you something new and the day becomes something you remember. It's the part of this job that gets me up early happily. If you feel like exploring, sharing a passion for the mountains and living real days out with the Guidders, we understand each other. 🥾🌿 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
