WHY THIS HIKE

Rifugio Lago Verde below Grand Queyron

A hut set among the peaks, on the French border.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Prali, in the Val Germanasca, climbing gently up the valley beside the stream to the pastures of Bout du Col, where a small tarn greets you. From there the ascent firms up: we pass Pian Littorio and reach Rifugio Lago Verde, a gem set among the mountains at the foot of the Grand Queyron. Anyone who wants carries on to the Passo Bucie, where you look into France.

5 reasons to come - Rifugio Lago Verde, at the foot of the Grand Queyron - the Passo Bucie, with France on the other side - the pastures of Bout du Col and their little tarn - a rarely walked alpine valley - the gradual shift from woodland to high ground

Who it suits A progressive climb that firms up higher: good fitness is needed.

A gem between Italy and France: come and find it with the Guidders.

Questions?

I've only done easy trails, can I come?

Rough and treacherous terrain requiring preparation and experience, equipment, and use of self-belay devices. You need to be fit enough to walk for 7 h with 1,100 m of ascent. If in doubt, message Ibex on WhatsApp.
