Weekend Under the Stars at the Valgoglio Lakes: Trekking and Camping in the Bergamo Alps
A weekend under the stars at the Valgoglio lakes
A night under canvas among the Orobie lakes.
The experience
Day 1. We set off with the Guidders from Valgoglio and spend most of the day's height gain in the initial pull, then the ground opens out and the tour of the first three lakes begins. We pitch camp and the evening is all there: supper together with stars overhead and the silence of the Orobie pre-Alps around us.
Day 2. We wake to first light on the water, have breakfast, and then lunch at the hut before heading down.
5 reasons to come - sleeping in a tent beside the Valgoglio lakes - supper together under the stars - the lake circuit on the first day - lunch at the hut before the descent - lakes and silence a short hop from Bergamo
Who it suits The initial climb is steep and concentrated: good fitness and a taste for sleeping out.
Effort, beauty and a sense of freedom: come and try them with the Guidders.
