Val Ferret: at the foot of Mont Blanc to Bonatti Refuge
Rifugio Bonatti in Val Ferret
The Grandes Jorasses on one side, the pastures on the other.
The experience
The Val Ferret runs from Mont Blanc to the Col Ferret, the crossing to the Swiss side: together with the Val Veny it is one of the most celebrated parts of the Courmayeur area. Walking it with the Guidders, to your left rise some of the most imposing peaks in the Alps — the Dente del Gigante, the Grandes Jorasses, the Aiguille de Triolet and the Mont Dolent — while to your right the slopes are gentle and green. From the Lavachey junction we climb to Rifugio Bonatti.
5 reasons to come - Rifugio Bonatti, a balcony facing Mont Blanc - the Grandes Jorasses and the Dente del Gigante opposite - the Val Ferret balcony path - the refreshment stop at Lavachey on the way back - a celebrated valley, walked the right way
Who it suits A steady climb on a well-marked path: normal walking fitness is enough.
At the foot of Mont Blanc: come and walk it with the Guidders.
