Two days between the Valtellina and the Orobie, with lakes in between.

Group chat before departure
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

Day 1. We set off with the Guidders from Rifugio Cristina, climb through the woods and waters of the Val Belviso to the high pastures of Malga Pila, and from there to the panoramic Rifugio Nani Tagliaferri, where we spend the night. Day 2. We cross the Venerocolo lakes, descend the Valle di Campo and return to the Cristina, closing a circuit that never repeats the same landscape.

Wide, wild and surprisingly varied country: the kind that stays with you.

5 reasons to come - the night at Rifugio Nani Tagliaferri - the Venerocolo lakes on the second day - the high pastures of Malga Pila - the Val Belviso, with its woods and water - a true loop, between Valtellina and the eastern Orobie

Who it suits Two days with real height gain on mountain paths: good fitness and a sure step are needed.

A weekend that stays with you: set off with the Guidders.

HOW TO GET THERE
08:30MOUNTAIN HUT
Starting from Rifugio Cristina
Meeting point: Rifugio Cristina in San Paolo, Val Belviso (Please note: phone service is unavailable). Our trek begins in the Val Belviso area, following a well-marked trail that immediately immerses you in the heart of the region's alpine scenery. The initial section allows you to find your rhythm, but the ascent gradually becomes steeper as we head towards the Val Pila branch. Here, the trek transforms: the forest gives way to more open slopes, streams, scree, and high-altitude pastures. As we approach Malga Pila, you'll already feel like you're on a true mountain adventure, with expansive views and an increasingly high-altitude environment.
13:00MOUNTAIN HUT
Malga Pila: A Taste of Mountain Paradise OR Malga Pila: Hike to Alpine Bliss OR Discover Malga Pila
From Malga Pila, we delve into the more mountainous section of our first day. The trail heads towards Passo del Venano, winding through a stark but incredibly scenic landscape, past remnants of military history, rocky outcrops, and offering sweeping views of the valley below.
15:30MOUNTAIN HUT
Nani Tagliaferri Mountain Hut
The final stretch towards the Tagliaferri Refuge is incredibly rewarding. You can feel yourself gaining altitude, the landscape opens up, and the atmosphere completely transforms. Reaching the refuge has that true "sense of accomplishment" that makes a day on the trails unforgettable.
