Monte Carchio in the Apuane Alps

Andiamo alla scoperta di uno scorcio nella catena delle Apuane! Il nome di questo monte, Carchio, significa letteralmente "Pietra", e deriva dall'impattante attività estrattiva di marmo che lo ha riguardato fino a non molto tempo fa. Sebbene le cave abbiano intaccato molto l'aspetto del monte, resta un punto panoramico eccezionale. spartiacque tra la provincia di Lucca e Massa Carrara, gode di viste sublimi sul litorale del Golfo della Spezia e sul vicino Monte Altissimo. Partendo da Riomagno, frazione di Seravezza, andremo a percorrere il sentiero un tempo corrispondente alla Linea Gotica, nella cresta tra il Monte Folgorito e il Carchio. Le postazioni militari sono ancora ben visibili qui, riportando storie di un passato recente, unite alla bellezza naturale delle colorate fioriture tra le rocce. Dopo aver raggiunto la cima ci abbasseremo verso il Rifugio Alleluia per poi rientrare dal sentiero di andata.
