Monte Murone & Palmavera Trek: WWII Bunkers and Nuraghe Village near Alghero
Murone-Palmavera Trek, Alghero
Forest, sea and history all in one day. If you're looking for a hike that will leave you breathless (in every sense), you're in the right place.
The experience
We set off early in the morning and cross the hilly system of Monte Doglia, between Monte Palmavera and Monte Murone. The dirt path leads us through a dense forest of pines and Mediterranean scrub, with plenty of shade to keep us company. We climb steadily, tackling some sloped stretches, as the view opens up over the bay of Porto Conte and the Capocaccia headland. At the summit of Monte Murone, we discover a World War II fortress carved into the rock, with bunkers and tunnels still visible. We close the day at the Palmavera nuragic village, whose entrance ticket is included in the price
Why join us - Views that range from forest to sea - Real history, among still-intact fortresses and trenches - The charm of the nuragic village to close the loop - The right pace: challenging but accessible to those who love hiking
Join the Guidders and experience the most authentic Sardinia, one step at a time.
