A silent wood, and a historic hut above Erve.
We set off with the Guidders from the village of Erve, step into the silence of the woods and gain height steadily on the flank of the Resegone. Along the climb we pass the San Carlo spring, a detail that gives the whole route its identity, then the path leads to Capanna Monza, a historic and instantly recognisable objective for anyone who walks the mountains above Lecco. You do not come here only to reach the hut: you come for the path, which is worth as much as the destination.
