Autumn trek between Praglia and Tramonte
Praglia: autumn loop on the Hills
A loop trail through vineyards, golden woods and a thousand-year-old abbey. All it takes is a few hours to fall in love with the Euganean Hills.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the majestic Abbazia di Praglia. The route is a loop: we climb gently through the autumn colours of the woods, pass by the remains of the old zoo and skirt vineyards and olive groves, up to a short, steeper stretch that takes us towards Monte delle Are and Monte Lonzina. We then descend calmly, among oaks and hornbeams, towards the village of Tramonte. We finish by going around Monte Boscalbò and continuing along an easy cart track back to the starting point.
Along the way you cross paths with history: this route links three religious sites, and the Abbazia di Praglia houses one of the most fascinating libraries in Veneto, which can be visited together with the Benedictine monks' shop.
5 reasons to come - an easy loop, perfect for autumn - the Abbazia di Praglia and its shop of monastic products - the colours of the woods changing with every step - panoramic view from Monte Lonzina - a themed route among religious sites
