Trekking at Corna Busa: An excursion through woodlands and the Scalvine Dolomites
Corna Busa in the Scalve Dolomites
A great hollow carved by water, below the Scalve Dolomites.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Schilpario, in the Val di Scalve, and climb a pleasant route through fir and beech woods to the Corna Busa: a huge natural cavity shaped over time by water and wind, which opens up in front of you all at once. As we gain height the landscape changes and the views widen onto the Scalve Dolomites, with Pizzo Bagozza, Pizzo Camino and Corno di San Fermo closing the horizon. The return completes the loop.
5 reasons to come - the Corna Busa, a spectacular natural cavity - the view over the Scalve Dolomites - Pizzo Bagozza and Pizzo Camino opposite - the fir and beech woods of the Val di Scalve - a loop that does not repeat the way up
Who it suits A pleasant, panoramic route with nothing technical: normal walking fitness is enough.
