WHY THIS HIKE

Pirlo Mountain Hut on Lake Garda

From the olive groves of Lake Garda to a real mountain hut, in half a day.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the hamlet of San Michele, above Gardone Riviera, and climb towards Rifugio Pirlo allo Spino, in the Parco Alto Garda Bresciano. It begins among olive trees and woodland, with the lake's Mediterranean feel all around, then the path gains height and changes character: steep sections, stony ground, a setting that grows more alpine up to the ridges of Monte Spino. The effort is repaid by the open view over Lake Garda and by the satisfaction of reaching a hut that still feels like one.

5 reasons to come - the open view over Lake Garda from above - Rifugio Pirlo allo Spino, the genuine article - the shift from olive groves to mountain woodland - the ridges of Monte Spino - a solid climb that really builds fitness

Who it suits Moderately demanding: there are steep, stony stretches to take with a sure step. Some fitness is needed.

Two worlds in a single climb: come and live them with the Guidders.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Francesco, a UIMLA International Mountain Leader and a mid-mountain leader registered with the Collegio Guide Alpine Lombardia. I'm also a yoga teacher, and I love bringing mindful movement together with deep contact with nature: between trails and breath, the mountains are my element. For me the mountains are pure joy, to be lived in every aspect and shared with anyone who wants to explore, listen and be amazed. Every outing is a chance to find balance, wonder and — very often — new friendships. I hope to meet you soon. 🧘 🌲 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
