Trekking to the Marinelli Bombardieri Hut: Hike in Valmalenco amidst glaciers and alpine panoramas.
Rifugio Marinelli Bombardieri in Valmalenco
A hut at the foot of the Bernina, with the glaciers in front of you.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Campo Moro, above Lanzada, and climb towards Rifugio Marinelli Bombardieri, by way of Alpe Fellaria, through woodland, alpine tarns and increasingly glacial country. The final climb brings us to the foot of the Bernina group, with the view opening onto Piz Bernina, Piz Palü and the magnificent Fellaria glacier: one of the rarest scenes Lombardy can offer.
5 reasons to come - a direct view of the Bernina glaciers - Rifugio Marinelli Bombardieri, a high-altitude landmark - Piz Bernina and Piz Palü opposite - Alpe Fellaria along the climb - the shift from woodland to glacial country
Who it suits Serious height gain and high-altitude terrain: good fitness and a sure step are needed.
An iconic Valmalenco outing: come and do it with the Guidders.
