Trekking to Rifugio Colombè from Paspardo: A scenic hike through forests with breathtaking views of Upper Lake Iseo.
Rifugio Colombè from Paspardo
A mule track that climbs in earnest, and a hut at the top.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Paspardo, in the Valle Camonica, taking the mule track that climbs among hazel, chestnut and meadow. The path is steep from the start, with stony ground, but it offers wider and wider glimpses as you gain height. We pass old barns and a fountain halfway up, then enter a larch and fir wood, where the route turns cool and steady. The final stretch makes itself felt again, then a clearing with a dairy and, a few minutes later, Rifugio Colombè.
5 reasons to come - Rifugio Colombè, the solid objective of the day - the historic mule track among chestnuts and meadows - the larch and fir wood halfway up - views that widen at every hairpin - a climb that satisfies right from the start
