Hiking Monte Barro from Pian Sciresa: A Panoramic Trek Above Lecco
Monte Barro from Pian Sciresa
You climb just enough, and the view feels far higher.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Pian Sciresa, in the Monte Barro park, between Galbiate, Malgrate and Lecco, and climb towards the summit of Monte Barro: a position suspended between lake, mountains and the Brianza, where a modest climb leaves you facing a panorama far more alpine than you would expect. After the top we drop to the hermitage of Monte Barro, a place with centuries behind it, and return by Pian Sciresa.
5 reasons to come - one of the finest views in Lombardy, without a long climb - the hermitage of Monte Barro after the summit - the Monte Barro park, between lake and Brianza - a complete loop, returning by a different line - an effort-to-view ratio that is hard to beat
Who it suits A route that is neither long nor technical: fine if you walk little and still want a summit view.
Little climbing, plenty of view: come and try it with the Guidders.
