WHY THIS HIKE

Cima Cadì from Passo Tonale

An exhilarating ridge between tarns and trenches.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the Ospizio San Bartolomeo, at the Tonale pass, on a white road through alpine meadows and larches, with views reaching the Dolomites on clear days. At the turn-off for Cima Cadì the path steepens and grows fainter; as we climb the landscape changes completely, with tarns, the glaciers of the Adamello-Presanella and Great War trenches. The final ridge is the best part, with slightly exposed sections and ground that can be slippery. The return closes the loop by Rifugio Capanna Bleis and the Nigritella.

5 reasons to come - the final ridge up to Cima Cadì - the Adamello-Presanella glaciers opposite - Great War trenches along the climb - two huts on the way back - marmots, which you really do see here

Who it suits The ridge has slightly exposed sections and slippery ground: a sure step and some fitness are needed.

A complete, absorbing trek: come and do it with the Guidders.
