Refuge Traverse Above Molveno: Croz dell'Altissimo and Selvata
Molveno Refuge Trek: epic day!
A hike that's a true journey through nature, scenery, and mountain flavors.
The experience
We'll set off from the car park in the Valbiole area, at the gateway to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. From here, we'll take a comfortable forest road that will lead us to our first stop: the scenic Rifugio La Montanara.
Just a few steps past the refuge, a surprise awaits us: the majestic wooden sculpture of the Bear, a work by artist Marco Martalar, which dominates the landscape and tells of the strength and beauty of the nature surrounding us.
We resume our walk along the evocative Sentiero delle Grotte, which winds at altitude amid spectacular views and glimpses of the Dolomites. After an exciting stretch, we'll reach Rifugio Croz dell'Altissimo, nestled at the foot of the majestic Brenta walls. Here we'll treat ourselves to a well-deserved refreshment break, with a postcard-worthy view. During this period the refuge is closed, so it will be a packed lunch!
The trek continues along a scenic trail immersed in nature, which in about half an hour will bring us to the charming Rifugio Selvata, for a second short stop.
But the best is yet to come! We'll venture into an enchanted forest to reach the last refuge of our loop hike, the welcoming Rifugio Malga Andalo. Surrounded by green meadows and alpine pastures, this place is ideal for relaxing, refreshing yourself, and breathing in the mountain air to the fullest, pampered by the kindness of the staff.
Finally, a gentle descent through the woods will take us down to the center of Molveno, nestled on the shores of its enchanting alpine lake.
A complete experience for those who love walking amid dreamlike landscapes, traditional mountain huts, and unspoiled nature.
