WHY THIS HIKE

Sunset on Pizzo Formico with dinner at Rifugio Parafulmine

Sunset over the Orobie, and dinner waiting just below.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Gandino and climb towards Pizzo Formico on paths through woods and pastures, up to the panoramic ridge. From the summit we watch the sun set over the Orobie and the Po plain, with a view running from Lake Iseo to the Presolana group. Once the show is over we drop to Rifugio Parafulmine for dinner, good food and conversation, then walk home under the stars.

5 reasons to come - sunset from the summit of Pizzo Formico - the view from Lake Iseo to the Presolana - dinner at Rifugio Parafulmine - the panoramic ridge above Gandino - the walk back under the stars, head torches on

Who it suits A straightforward outing on well-marked paths: normal walking fitness is enough.

Simple, but the kind that stays with you: join the Guidders.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Armando, a mid-mountain leader and International Mountain Leader. The mountains are a school of life and a natural gym for me. I've worked between nature and adventure for years: I was an instructor and rescuer in adventure parks and a rope access technician, and that path is what led me to guiding. I spend most of my days among woods and summits, and the striking thing is that every sunrise and every view still manages to surprise me — after all these years, that's saying something. On my outings I bring experience, care for safety and plenty of passion: the goal is to let you live the mountains for real, together with the Guidders. 🥾🌄 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
