Sunset Hike on Monte Bollettone from Alpe del Vicerè: A Scenic Loop in the Larian Triangle
Sunset on Mount Bollettone
The Larian Triangle when the sky catches fire.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the Alpe del Vicerè, above Albavilla, and climb gradually through beech woods and panoramic clearings, while the late afternoon light shifts minute by minute. We pass the Bocchetta di Molina and reach the summit of Monte Bolettone, one of the finest balconies above Lake Como, just in time for sunset. The descent closes the loop by the Bocchetta di Lemna and Capanna Mara.
5 reasons to come - sunset from the summit of Monte Bolettone - Lake Como and the Brianza seen from above - Capanna Mara on the way back - a loop that climbs and descends by different lines - an easy start, a few kilometres from Como
Who it suits A gradual woodland climb with nothing technical: normal walking fitness and a taste for coming back in the dark.
The finest hour of the day: come and live it with the Guidders.
