Sunset at the Stoppani hut on the Resegone

The Resegone ablaze, Lecco at your feet, and a snack in a mountain hut... what more could you want?

The experience

Rifugio Stoppani (890 m), nestled on the slopes of Mount Resegone, is one of those places that makes you say, "Okay, I'll be back here." It's the perfect terrace to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the city of Lecco, the lake, and the mountains that turn golden as the sun dips behind Monte Barro.

We'll depart from Lecco, in the Madonna di Lourdes area, around 2:00 PM. We'll ascend along the historic trail n.1, passing by the Madonna del Resegone, a natural balcony that is worth the walk on its own.

Then... boom 🤩 We arrive at Stoppani, settle on the terrace, and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the area together with our Guidders. And for those who are hungry (or thirsty)... snack/aperitivo in the mountain hut like true explorers!

Return downhill always via trail 1, straight back to the cars.

We'll meet in Lecco, at Madonna di Lourdes in the Acquate district, where we'll leave our cars and begin our trek into the mountains.

Destination
After a couple of hours of hiking, we'll reach the mountain hut at 890m, which boasts stunning views of Lecco, its lake, and the surrounding mountains. From here, we'll witness a breathtaking sunset as the sun dips below the horizon, disappearing behind Mount Barro. Afterwards, we can enjoy a quick snack or aperitivo at the rifugio to recharge.

The experience

Rifugio Stoppani (890 m), nestled on the slopes of Mount Resegone, is one of those places that makes you say, "Okay, I'll be back here." It's the perfect terrace to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the city of Lecco, the lake, and the mountains that turn golden as the sun dips behind Monte Barro.

We'll depart from Lecco, in the Madonna di Lourdes area, around 2:00 PM. We'll ascend along the historic trail n.1, passing by the Madonna del Resegone, a natural balcony that is worth the walk on its own.

Then... boom 🤩 We arrive at Stoppani, settle on the terrace, and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the area together with our Guidders. And for those who are hungry (or thirsty)... snack/aperitivo in the mountain hut like true explorers!
