WHY THIS HIKE

Sentiero del Viandante from Varenna

HOW TO GET THERE
09:00MEETING
Varenna
From the village of Vezio, the path sets off descending towards the Esino stream via an old bridge. Then, climbing towards Regolo, it joins a road that continues along the hillside, first paved, then a dirt track. It carries on towards Valle Masna and, after crossing the so-called Bosco delle Streghe, heads towards Fabbrica. After passing alongside the Cappella della Madonna Addolorata, the path descends towards Bellano. Past the bridge over the Orrido, it climbs towards Ombriaco, then reaches the Santuario di Lezzeno, from where it descends towards Oro. After Verginate and Ronchi, it reaches the Dervio peninsula, the finishing point of the third stage.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Antonio, an environmental hiking guide and a tireless walker. Long-distance routes are my passion: in my free time I'm always out looking for new trails, and what I'm looking for never changes — calm, beauty and authenticity. I've walked around 20 of them in Italy, and two I designed myself: the Cammino di Carlo Magno and the Via Valeriana, routes that tell you about history, land and a love of slow travel. What I like most about a slow pace is that it forces you to look: you skip nothing, not even the village that looked insignificant on the map. Every walk leaves you richer, and I can't wait to share one with you. 🎒 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
