WHY THIS HIKE

Euganean Hills, Monte Alto and Zogo

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Laura, an environmental hiking guide, and as a child I was curious about everything in the natural world: plants, animals, rocks… and human beings too. So at university I enrolled in Natural Sciences, specialising in the conservation and management of the natural environment. For a long while I travelled for study and research — from Wales to South America (Peru, Bolivia, Brazil), from Norway to the Canaries — always trying to go deeper into the environment and the local culture. Over time I specialised in ethnobotany and agroecology: the first studies the relationship between people and plants, the second how to apply ecology to farming to be more sustainable and build communities that care about healthy, naturally grown food. I firmly believe in what nature does for our minds and bodies, and I'd like to show you a different side of the places we visit. On nearly all my outings I'm joined by Erin, my tireless and very affectionate adventure companion. 🐾 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
