Alpine Pasture Flavors: A Tour of the Castrin Mountain Huts
The Castrin mountain huts
A tour of mountain dairies, with an honesty bar in the water trough.
The experience
In this corner of the Val di Non we discover the Castrin dairies with the Guidders, walking an easy mule track. We come across several: at some you stop to eat, others are self-service — the owner leaves drinks in the cold water trough with a fixed price list and a small box for payment. We pass Malga Cloz, Malga Revo and the upper Malga Kessel, and finish at the Hochwart tarn.
5 reasons to come - the tour of the Castrin dairies - the honesty bar in the water trough, box and all - the Hochwart tarn - an easy mule track the whole way - the Val di Non away from the tourist circuits
