WHY THIS HIKE

The Roda di Vael over Val di Fassa

A genuine hut, beyond the reach of the lifts.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

Rifugio Roda di Vael is a true alpine hut: no lift reaches it, and that leaves its sense of adventure intact. Its position is privileged, with a view ranging from the Lagorai to the Pale di San Martino, from the Marmolada to the Sella, as far as the Cigolade. We set off with the Guidders from the Passo di Costalunga, pass Rifugio Paolina and the Christomannos eagle, then carry on to the hut.

5 reasons to come - Rifugio Roda di Vael, beyond the reach of the lifts - the Christomannos eagle along the route - the view from the Marmolada to the Pale di San Martino - Rifugio Paolina halfway along - a natural balcony over the Val di Fassa

Who it suits A route on well-marked paths with a few exposed sections: a sure step is needed.

A hut worth earning: come and reach it with the Guidders.
