WHY THIS CLIMB

Punta Giordani, your first 4000er

Your first four-thousander, and you never forget it.

Group chat a couple of days before

The experience

Punta Giordani, 4,046 metres, is the perfect doorway into high altitude. We set off with the Guidders from Alagna and ride up to Punta Indren; crampons on, we step straight into the heart of the Lys glacier. The pace is steady, the line direct, the setting majestic: around you only silence, light and the energy you feel only up there. The final crest leads to the summit, and from there Monte Rosa surrounds you.

5 reasons to come - your first four-thousander, in a single day - the Lys glacier, crossed roped up - the final crest to Punta Giordani - the Monte Rosa massif all around you - the first step of the Road to 4000 project

Who it suits This is glacier mountaineering: good fitness and no trouble with altitude. Equipment is provided.

Some mountains you never forget: come with the Guidders.
