Santa Rita Mountain Hut and Madonna delle Nevi in Val Biandino
Santa Rita Mountain Hut and Madonna delle Nevi in Val Biandino
A loop between the historic huts of the Val Biandino.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the car park in the Val Biandino, above Introbio, and climb mule tracks, path and pasture towards Rifugio Madonna della Neve and Rifugio Santa Rita, in the heart of the Lecco Orobie. Then the climb continues to the Costa del Dente, where the view opens towards the Bocchetta della Cazza and the nearby peaks. It is a long, physical loop, alternating gravel tracks and path with sustained gradients and some stony ground, and it never repeats the same scenery.
5 reasons to come - two historic huts in the same day - the Costa del Dente and the view over the Lecco Orobie - a complete loop that comes back a different way - the Val Biandino, green and sheltered - a solid climb that builds fitness
