Salmurano Refuge: Trekking through the Silent Orobie Valleys
Rifugio Salmurano in the silent Orobie valleys
A natural terrace facing Pizzo dei Tre Signori.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Cusio, one of the most genuine villages in the upper Val Brembana, and climb towards Rifugio Salmurano through fragrant woods, stone barns and bright basins. The path gains height calmly, skirting dairies and pastures where silence takes the lead. At the hut a natural terrace is waiting, with a spectacular view of Pizzo dei Tre Signori and the surrounding valleys: the right place for lunch and a slice of home-made cake.
5 reasons to come - the terrace at Rifugio Salmurano - Pizzo dei Tre Signori opposite - the stone barns and dairies along the climb - Cusio, a genuine upper Val Brembana village - a calm climb that never asks too much
