Resegone Experience: Two Days Among Ridges, Sunset and Sunrise at Rifugio Azzoni
Resegone Experience
The Resegone ridge, sunset at the summit and sunrise the next morning.
The experience
Day 1. We set off with the Guidders from the village of Erve on a long climb to La Passata, the gateway to the ridge. From there we follow the mountain's sawtooth profile, with constant views of Lake Como, the Grigne, Monte Rosa and the Po plain, all the way to Rifugio Azzoni, built right on the main summit. Dinner, and we watch the sunset from up there.
Day 2. An early start for sunrise at the top, then down to the Piani d'Erna and back to Erve.
5 reasons to come - sleeping on the summit of the Resegone, at Rifugio Azzoni - sunset and sunrise from the very same spot - the whole sawtooth ridge, one of the finest in the pre-Alps - Lake Como, the Grigne and Monte Rosa in a single sweep - the descent from the Piani d'Erna, nothing like the way up
Who it suits Two demanding days: the climb is long and the ridge asks for a sure step. Good fitness is needed.
Seen like this, the Resegone stays with you: come and live it with the Guidders.
