WHY THIS HIKE

The Bridge in the Sky in Val Tartano

A bridge hanging in mid-air, and a bivouac hut higher up.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

The outing begins with something you do not forget: the Ponte nel Cielo, hanging in mid-air between the mountains of the Val Tartano, one of the highest suspension bridges in Europe. From the bridge the path carries on with the Guidders through woods and pastures, climbing steadily towards the Bivacco Rovedatti. The climb asks for some commitment but stays manageable, and along the way the silence of the woods alternates with panoramic clearings perfect for stopping.

5 reasons to come - the Ponte nel Cielo, suspended between the mountains - the Bivacco Rovedatti as the objective - the panoramic clearings along the route - the silent woods of the Val Tartano - spectacular glimpses of the valley at every opening

Who it suits A climb that asks for some commitment but remains manageable: normal walking fitness is enough.

It starts with a walk on air: come and try it with the Guidders.
