Pizzo Porcellizzo in the wild heart of Val Masino
Pizzo Porcellizzo in the wild heart of Val Masino
Granite, famous walls and a wild summit.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the Bagni di Masino, the gateway to one of the finest corners of the Rhaetian Alps. The first stretches run through ancient woods, streams and old mule tracks; then the landscape turns severe and granite takes over, with the great walls of the Pizzo Badile closing the horizon. We climb to Rifugio Gianetti, then to the Passo Porcellizzo and finally to the summit of Pizzo Porcellizzo, in the wildest heart of the Val Masino.
5 reasons to come - one of the wildest summits in the Val Masino - Rifugio Gianetti, in the kingdom of granite - the walls of the Pizzo Badile right in front of you - the ancient woods and mule tracks of the Bagni di Masino - a demanding route, for anyone after the big days
