Pizzo dei Tre Signori: an autumn loop from Gerola Alta to the summit chains
Tre Signori: the golden loop
Three ancient lands, one summit, one unforgettable view.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Gerola Alta, in Valtellina, while autumn still sets the forest on fire with color. We climb with the Guidders through golden larches up to Alpe Trona Vaga, then to Rifugio Trona Soliva, before tackling the final stretch: bare rock on the summit monolith, with a few chains guiding us to the cross at the top. It's a true loop: up one way, down another, with Bocchetta di Trona as the scenic hinge. The Pizzo dei Tre Signori, 2554 m, takes its name from the meeting point of three ancient lordships: Milan, Venice, and the Grisons. From up there, the view sweeps across the Orobie Alps and, on clear days, reaches the Swiss Alps.
5 reasons to join - the summit where three ancient territories once met - Val Gerola's autumn foliage, a true color explosion - the final rocky stretch with chains, a taste of real adventure - Rifugio Trona Soliva, the perfect midway stop - a full loop, with scenery that keeps changing
