The experience

Prato Piazza is one of those places that stay with you: a wide open plateau between the Alta Pusteria and Cortina d'Ampezzo, with mountains all around and the Croda Rossa dominating the scene. We start at the Passo Cimabanche and climb to Rifugio Vallandro, a comfortable haven among these peaks: here you eat, drink and take in the view that turns all the way round.

Passo Cimabanche
The meeting point is Passo Cimabanche, where you can leave your car. From here our hike will set off towards Pratopiazza. The trail runs within the valley, with a lovely stream accompanying hikers for its entire length.

How do you get to Cortina d'Ampezzo? By carpooling.
