HOW TO GET THERE
09:00PARKING
Starting point
In one of the large car parks in the Paneveggio area, found along the road leading towards Passo Rolle. From here we'll set off first on a forest road starting from the Visitor Centre, then continue into the woods. We'll then emerge into wide pastures where our eyes will already be filled with wonder at the surrounding peaks. Past the lower mountain huts, we'll start making our way into the Park's core zone, surrounded by the characteristic Larch-Swiss pine woods, unique plant communities that are home to fascinating animal species, which we'll have the chance to see live, such as the Three-toed Woodpecker! The route continues in a loop, climbing and then gradually descending until reaching a stunning viewpoint over the Pale di San Martino. From here, the way back.
15:30RETURN
Visit to the wildlife centre
At the end of the main hike, a 10-minute walk takes us to the large enclosure where some deer live. This will let us see this magnificent and majestic animal up close and learn about its features and biology.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Francesca, an accredited guide and a member of the AIGAE association. I've loved the outdoors for as long as I can remember, and my hikes bring in the theme of protecting biodiversity: I run activities in nature focused on Alpine wildlife, because knowing it better is the first step towards protecting it. I'll take you along the paths of prey and predators, looking for tracks and hoping for an encounter that leaves a mark. It isn't guaranteed — but learning to read tracks changes the way you look at a wood anyway. Walk with me and you'll go home knowing who was there before us. 🐾 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
